How does shrinking links for money work

Url shrinking for money allows you to earn money from every visitor to your shortened links. How this works is actually quite simple.

1. Create an account with at least one url shortening service from this list.
2. You will then receive a confirmation e-mail, follow the instructions in the email.
3. Login to your account.
4. Enter a long link website in the special field and click Shrink. Your shorl URL will be displayed and will look something like this http://adf.ly/1OCz96 (if you use ad.fly)

Now that you have an AdF.ly URL that is associated with your account, the work begins.

You will now be paid for every person that clicks on your short link, so you need to give it maximum exposure. The easiest way is if you already own a website or blog, you can shrink URLs already on your website and replace them with short links. Then your website visitors click on them, you will earn money. 2. Forums. If you are helping people out on a forum and giving them the answers they require, shrink any website URLs and then include them in your post. Be absolutely sure you are not spamming though, otherwise you get your account suspended. Always abide by the forum rules.
3. Anywhere you normally post links! Use your imagination and get paid every month.

What Does 500 Words Look Like

The writing on this page will be about 500 words - the point being to demonstrate what it looks like.

It doesnt matter a great deal what it is about - it will wander along in a reasonably simple and quick fashion, depending on your reading pace of course.

The purpose, and all writing has to have a purpose, except the best sort, which is writing that doesnt - the purpose being to give a rough idea of words on a page, and how much space 500 of them take up.

I guess that most people would be horrified to talk about words being used as filler, but the truth is, that is all writers do.  Sure, they can dress it up as great meaningful prose, or important news or even poetry - but it is all just letters, arranged to lesser or greater effect.

For my part, I love words and playing with them, shifting them around in my head and then laying them out - attempting to make a coherent point about something.  The fun of the surprise gives me great pleasure.

On this occasion I am working within a narrow remit.  It is to show you what 500 of these beauties look like when laid end to end.

Obviously, unless you have a very wide screen, they will not appear in a single line but in a series of mini paragraphs - the two sentence rule being the internet standard at present.  Eventually we will end up with a single word being sufficient for the average reader with at least two lines of space and a video to alleviate the extreme stress of reading.

I might point out at this stage that the word count is a disappointingly slim three hundred or so.  That means more work for the both of us to get to the end.  I would say "Ill keep it short" but there is a target here that I intend to hit.

Sometimes, when the subject matter is a little more, how shall we say... interesting, then 500 words is nowhere near enough.  On a title like this though Im almost pushing it to get there.  Still, the average paragraph is fifty or so, and it doesnt take a whole lot of waffle to put a few together.

I wonder what it is you are going to be writing?  A school essay, a job application, maybe a love letter?  Five hundred words of endearment should go a long way I should think, although I am no expert.  There was a time once, I can tell you, although sadly - fifty words would probably cover it.

Whatever it is you are aiming for, I wish you good luck and as we reach the finish point I hope you find it easy enough.  I will say that practice makes writing very easy, and its more fun than it probably looks.

Ultrasound selfies How surveys can mislead

Do you believe that traditional hospitals will be obsolete in the future? A recent survey found that 57% of those polled believed that would happen.

The survey, sponsored by the Intel Corporation, involved 12,000 subjects from the United States and seven other countries around the world.

Here are some other revelations from that survey:

• 84% said they would be willing to share their personal health information to advance and lower costs in the health care system.
• 70% said they were receptive to using toilet sensors, prescription bottle sensors, and swallowed health monitors.
• 53% said they would trust a test they personally administered as much or more than if that same test was performed by a doctor
• 30% of people would trust themselves to perform their own ultrasound. 

That made me laugh. Ultrasonography is one of the most operator-dependent tests in use today. It is not easy to perform, nor is it easy to interpret.
I then began to wonder about the credibility of this survey. Before I retired, I practiced in a typical small town in the northeastern United States. Some patients googled me, and a few searched the Internet for information about their illnesses. But for the most part, it was a technologically unsophisticated population.

I just cant envision most of my patients wanting to share their personal health information, use toilet sensors, or trust tests they did at home. Do their own ultrasounds? Not likely. Many of them did not even know what medications they were on.

After rereading the article about the survey, it occurred to me that the sample may have been flawed.

This sentence stood out. "[The] Intel Health Innovation Barometer was conducted online by Penn Schoen Berland in Brazil, China, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and the United States." The key word is "online."

This reminded me of a famous survey conducted by a magazine called The Literary Digest, which polled 10 million people and had a response of 2.4 million just before the 1936 presidential election. The magazine had correctly called the previous four presidential winners.

The names of the 10 million people queried were drawn from lists of the magazines subscribers, owners of automobiles, and those with telephones. The survey predicted a crushing defeat for President Franklin D. Roosevelt at the hands of the Republican nominee, Alf Landon.

Of course, the opposite occurred. Roosevelt won all but 8 electoral vote, a huge landslide. What went wrong? Unlike the prior years, 1936 was the middle of the Great Depression, and this time those who had enough money to subscribe to The Literary Digest, own cars, and have telephones were not a representative sample of those who voted.

Do you think maybe the 12,000 people polled online might not be a representative sample of the general population of the world?

Im not expecting patients to do their own ultrasounds anytime soon. I think hospitals will be around for a while too.
